Bring Flickr to Your Website Using JSON and jQuery

Flickr is a great website for hosting and sharing your photos. If you are an amateur photographer who likes to share photos from your latest outdoor adventure, or even a professional photographer planning to market your work, then chances are you’ve at least heard of Flickr.  But what if you want to take your photo sharing to the next level by showcasing your photos on your personal website, but don’t want to deal with the hassle of updating your HTML each time you want to share a new photo? Fear not, because Flickr has developed an API especially for developers, and mixed with a little jQuery and JSON magic, you can update your website portfolio directly from your Flickr account.

How to create amazing light effects in Photoshop

This tutorial will teach you how to easily create light effects in Photoshop. We will play with blending modes, adjustments layers and brushes. We will use smoke brushes, but I recommend you to experiment with any kind of brush set. Remember that the key to obtain the best result with this technique is to create at first a dark background, then introduce the image you want to enhance, and at the end create your lights with a combination of brushes (or vectors or stock images).

How to create a fantasy photomanipulation in Photoshop

This tutorial will show you how to combine some stock images in Photoshop to create a fantasy photomanipulation. We will play in particular with colors, mask and adjustment layers.

Fantasy is one of my favourite topic in graphic design. We can create a world in 2500×3500 pixels. This tutorial, for example, was initially created with the intention of teaching how to create outstanding landscapes with adjustment layers. Then I accidentally came accross the image of a nice kid, and I decided to turn all the tutorial into a surreal land with a castle and a flying horse. Hope you enjoy it!

Photoshop Tutorial: Create a Stylish Menu Nar

Today I'm going to show you how to create a nice menu bar.

1. Creating Background

First we must create a new Photoshop document. I'll use size 700 x 35 (width x height).

Now fill your document with what ever color you want and right click on your layer and select "Blending Options" and set these settings:

Now create a new layer and fill it with white. Use "Rectangle Marquee Tool" to selext excess white color like this:

Now press "Delete" to remove excess white color. Now change layer's opacity to 50%. Also remove this white color from the borders so your menu bar looks like this:

2. Final Words

Now add onto it what ever you want and you are done. You can customize it how ever you want. My outcome looks like this:

I hope my tutorial was easy enough for you and you enjoyed it.
If you have questions, feel free to ask from me.
